We learned about the names of our fingers, we played the game I spy with my little eye, we smell different smells, we distinguished between silence and loud sounds and we knew the different tastes. In the United States, Martin Luther King Day is always observed on the third Monday of January...

Since 1986, the United States has observed the birth of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. as a legal public holiday. This day is set aside each year to honor King, the powerful black minister from Atlanta who was the main force behind the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s. He was also a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (1964) for leading non-violent civil rights demonstrations.
Dr. King was treated unfairly when he was a young boy because he was an African American. Back in those days, there were even laws that said that if you were African American, and you had brown skin, you couldn't sit at the same restaurants as white people and you couldn't drink from the same water fountains, or anything! We call this kind of attitude prejudice, and it's NOT OK! When Dr. King grew up, he worked hard to change people's ideas about race. He wanted people to understand that everyone should be treated equally, regardless of what they looked like. Dr. King wrote one of the most famous speeches in history, called "I Have a Dream".It talked about his dream that one day in the near future, all people would respect and care for one another. He believed that children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin. In January we celebrate Martin Luther King's Birthday to remember his dream.

Today we flew a kite with Primary 1 children. Marian drew a beautiful design in our home-made kite and children coloured it. The result was fantastic! They designed their own little kites and at the end of the class we went to the playground and we flew the kite! It was funny! It was not very windy but we enjoyed very much.

On these days we did a lot of activities:

In all the levels we sing songs,act,colour pictures,learn a lot of vocabulary,...
Pre-primary act the songs and made some crafts.
Primary 1 and 2 ate ghosts and spiders. Primary 6 prepared these scary food for them. They said: DELICIOUS!
Primary 3 made "ghosts" for the pre-primary kids. They gave them to the kids on Friday and they sang a song to them too.
Primary 4 watched a film: Winnie the witch and they sang her songs.
Primary 5 and 6 made a game "trick or treat". They got a card out of a pumpkin. If it was trick they had to do an action. If it was treat they had a candy, yummy!
Primary 5 colour the poster Marian did about Halloween. Thank you Marian! You are an artist.

Today we started the classes with Mariam. It´s fantastic! The title of this post is MOTIVATION because this is the feeling ... All the children wanted to talk, they wanted to ask, they wanted to understand everything.
Children introduced themselves and they asked Marian a lot of questions:
- HOW DO YOU SAY EQUIPO DE FÚTBOL teacher?
- Football team.
- Marian, What's your favourite football team?
It's great and I am very happy!
Children were nervous, teachers were nervous and Marian was nervous too but it´s a great experience for everybody.
